Intel Will Provide 5G And VR Live Technical Support For Korea's Pyeongchang Winter Olympics

Recently, Intel announced the cooperation with the International Olympic Committee, the virtual reality (VR) and 5G services to 2018 Korea's Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.


Under the terms of the agreement, Intel will use Intel Truevr technology for virtual reality live broadcast at 2018 Korea's Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and will provide 360-degree replay technology. Auditors only need to bring VR Glasses Intel will also use UAV lighting technology to create images in the air; for the Olympic Broadcasting Service (OBS) home broadcast operators and the Olympic channel to provide technical and content support. In addition, Intel will showcase its 5G platform.

Sandra Rivera said in a message to the media that in 2018, Pyeongchang, Intel, KT and eco-partners will be in the Jiangling Olympic Park, Seoul Gwanghwamun and other Olympic venues in South Korea to carry out 5G demo. In addition, the Intel 5G mobile test platform and Intel 5G network technology (including FlexRAN technology) will be in a variety of Olympic venues 5G network is enabled.

Through the TOP partnership with the International Olympic Committee, Intel will let everyone begin to understand and better experience the future 5G.

It is reported that Intel will join the Olympic partner sponsorship program until 2024. In addition to the 2018 Winter Olympics, Intel will also participate in the 2010 Tokyo Olympic Games, the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
